Mattresses are bulky, slow to break down and full of materials that can be used again, yet many still end up in landfill. At Bedworld we want to change that, so when we deliver your order we can take your old mattress, or your old bed and mattress, away too.

Why mattress recycling matters

• They're bulky and slow to break down: metal springs, foams and fabrics don't decompose easily.
• They're full of reusable materials: springs and fibres can be used again when a mattress is recycled properly.
• Landfill is the worst option: every mattress recycled is one less taking up space in the ground.

How our removal service works

1. Add removal in the basket

In your basket, choose old mattress removal: one mattress, two mattresses, or your old bed and mattress.

2. Leave it ready for collection

Please place your old mattress (and bed, if you've chosen bed removal) by your ground floor entrance, ready to be collected.

3. We take it away when we deliver

Our team collects it when they deliver your order, so there's no need to arrange a collection or a trip to the tip.

What happens to your old mattress and bed?

We work with a specialist recycling partner, so the old mattresses and beds we collect are recycled, not sent to landfill. Our mattress recycling scheme helps prevent over 10,000 mattresses reaching landfill every year.

• Springs are checked and repaired where possible. Those beyond repair are melted down and used to make new products.
• Fabrics and fillings are cleaned at high temperatures, shredded and made into new fillings.
• Beds and bed frames are stripped down into their individual parts, which are then recycled.

Getting your old mattress ready

• Remove all bedding, including sheets, protectors and pillows.
• Keep it dry. If it's waiting in a porch or garage, cover it to protect it from damp.
• Place it by your ground floor entrance before your delivery day.

Make your mattress last longer
