Memory Foam Divan Beds

Memory Foam Divan Beds Buying Guide

A memory foam divan bed pairs an upholstered divan base with a mattress that has a memory foam comfort layer. The foam moulds to your shape and eases pressure on your shoulders, hips and back.

Springs underneath the foam

Nearly every set in this range has springs under the memory foam:

• Pocket springs and memory foam: the largest group. Each spring moves on its own, so it is the better choice if you share the bed.
• Open coil springs and memory foam: good value, ideal for guest rooms and children's rooms.

See all memory foam mattresses to compare the mattresses on their own.

Comfort

Most sets are medium, with medium firm and firm options too. Memory foam feels slow to respond: you sink in gently rather than bounce. If you prefer more bounce, look at pocket sprung divan beds.

Who it suits

• Side sleepers, whose shoulders and hips need to sink in slightly.
• Anyone with aches and pressure points, as the foam spreads your weight.
• Light sleepers, as memory foam absorbs movement across the bed.

Build your bed

Choose your fabric, storage and headboard when you order. Most sets can also have an ottoman lift-up base. Read the divan beds buying guide for storage and size advice.
