Sprung Divan Beds Buying Guide
A sprung divan bed is an upholstered divan base with an open coil sprung mattress on top. It is one of our best value divan ranges, and a sensible choice for guest rooms, children's rooms and first homes.
Where the springs are
In these sets the springs are in the mattress. The divan base itself has a solid platform top, which gives the mattress firm, even support from edge to edge.
Choose your mattress
- Open coil and memory foam: a memory foam layer on top for extra comfort, the largest group in this range.
- Open coil only: a firmer, traditional feel.
- Open coil and gel: a gel layer designed to help you sleep cooler.
Most sets are medium, with a few firm options. Compare with all sprung mattresses.
Who it suits
- Guest rooms and spare beds.
- Children's rooms, in 2'6 small single and 3'0 single.
- Anyone on a budget who wants a complete bed with storage.
If you share your bed every night, a pocket sprung divan bed gives less partner disturbance.
Build your bed
Choose your fabric, storage and headboard when you order. Read the divan beds buying guide for storage and size advice.
Sprung Divan Beds FAQs
Is the divan base sprung?
No. In our sprung divan beds the springs are in the mattress. The divan base has a solid platform top, which gives the mattress firm, even support from edge to edge.
Are sprung divan beds good value?
Yes, they are one of our best value divan ranges. Each one is a complete set with an open coil mattress, many with a memory foam layer on top, and you can still choose your fabric, storage and headboard.
Sprung or pocket sprung divan bed: which should I choose?
An open coil mattress is good value and ideal for guest rooms and children. If you share your bed every night, choose a pocket sprung divan bed, where each spring moves on its own.
