Pocket Sprung Mattresses

Pocket sprung mattresses are constructed with hundreds even thousands of individual springs encased in cloth sleeves called pockets, this creates independent movement for each spring contouring to your body shape and keeping your spine in correct alignment. Each of these pocket springs is enclosed in its own fabric pocket and works independently of each other. This means that each spring reacts only to the pressure that’s applied to that particular area, and they don’t move as a whole unit. Pocket sprung mattresses tend to offer better support than open-coil however this comes at an extra cost.

Pillowtop Mattresses

This is an additional layer of support filled with either memory foam, latex or wool either integrated within the top-section of the mattress or stitched onto the the top of the mattress itself. The comfort of a pillow top mattress is renowned for supporting sleep. They are the preferred mattress for side sleepers for hip and shoulder support and are considered great for reducing back and joint pain. They are overall exceptional for pressure point relief.

Tension

This is a measure of firmness which determines how hard or soft the mattress feels when lying on it. A good mattress should always contour to your body and feel comfortable. The right firmness level can promote proper spinal alignment while cushioning sensitive areas of the body. The best firmness for an individual will depend on their body type, the position in which they sleep and the level of support they require.

Head-to-Toe

By regularly rotating our pocket sprung mattresses from head-to-toe, you keep your mattress in great condition prolonging its lifespan and maintaining the benefits your mattress has to offer. It’s recommended that this is done at least once every three months, to ensure that the filling is evenly distributed and you use the mattress evenly.

Air Vents

A traditional component of many mattresses, these allow the mattress to breath, keeping the temperature regulated and helping you enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep. They also help to keep the mattress in good condition and prolong its longevity.

Turning Handles

These are placed on the borders of a mattress to make it easier to maneuver. Not all mattresses feature turning handles, they are more likely to be found on the heavier king and superking sizes.
