Professor Jim Horne, the director of Loughborough University Sleep Research centre asserted that lack of sleep can surface ‘unwanted health problems’.

With Exam season in full swing many teenagers and university scholars are needing sufficient bed rest more than ever. Although revision is vital for exams, sleep and a balanced diet are just as important.

CR Chandrashekar, a psychiatrist with the National Intsitute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences spoke out suggesting ” Good food and sufficient rest are necessary to keep the mind alert. Drink a lot of water and avoid spicy or oily foods to stay awake and alert whilst answering questions.”

It can therefore be concluded that although most of us feel those extra hours of typing away at our desks, doing an extra load of clothes washing so it doesn’t pile up or cramming last minute revision will help, it won’t. Good Bed rest and a balanced diet will do the trick as the hours we then put in will be filled with more energy most probably enabling us to do the extra work within the same amount of time.

In todays current climate buying a house with ample amounts of space is a lovely idea but thats generally all it is ‘an idea.’ what we are usually loaded with on the reserve is a cute home were by space is a premium and many therefore do not have the room to have both a sofa and a bed (especially in studio apartments) and therefore a day bed becomes the oracle of help!

But forgetting the decorative side for the minute the children’s beds of today are so well designed that they are compact (because as adults we have obviously taken the bigger room!) and have built in wardrobes, desks, drawers and even sofa beds for the little rascals friends.
